position paper

stop posting safe

the position, written out properly, once, at full strength. this is the page to link when someone asks what we are about.

01

the feed died of politeness

scroll your feed and read five posts out loud. same hook, same three short lines, same manufactured vulnerability, same question dangling at the end begging for comments. five different people, one voice. and that voice belongs to a media intern with a quota.

nobody decided this on purpose. the formula got rewarded, the rewards got studied, the studies became courses, and the courses taught a hundred million professionals to write the identical post. optimization ate the personality and called it best practice.

02

then the machines industrialized it

language models trained on a decade of engagement winners. they learned the house style down to the punctuation: the em-dash, the negate-then-reveal sentence, the word "delve", the closer that asks for your thoughts. then they started producing it at infinite volume for free.

AI did not invent slop. it scaled slop. the formula used to cost a copywriter an afternoon. now it costs nothing, which means the feed fills with it faster than anyone can read, and every post written by formula gets cheaper by the day.

03

pattern-matched means pre-ignored

readers grew antibodies. your audience clocks a template in about 200 milliseconds, files your post under "content", and keeps scrolling. they could not quote a single line of it back to you, and neither could you.

polished and forgettable now loses to weird and true. every time.

04

a voice is the only moat left

anything polished can be reproduced by a model in one second. what a model cannot reproduce: your specific wreckage. the deal that fell apart, the phrase you overuse, the opinion that costs you something to hold, the way you type at 11pm versus 9am.

sounding like a person used to be table stakes. now it is a competitive advantage, because most of your competition gave their keyboard to a machine with a style guide.

05

safe is the expensive option

the punishment for a weird post is a few cringe comments. the punishment for a safe post is that nobody remembers you exist, and you pay it on every single post, forever.

nobody ever built an audience on statements nobody could possibly disagree with.

06

so we banned the formula in code

not a style suggestion in a prompt. a blacklist of 90 patterns that runs on everything our generator writes: the machine tells get rewritten, the formula gets deleted, the corporate filler gets flagged. the whole list is public, with the actual regex, at /blacklist.

we hold ourselves to it. every public page on this site has to pass our own slop detector with a grade a. and yes, "stop posting safe" trips our own ban on "stop x-ing" openers. one exemption, framed on the wall, to remind us the rules are real.

07

the ask

post something true this week. one specific thing that happened to you, in the words you would use at the bar, with the opinion you keep off linkedin. no hook formula, no engagement question, no rocket emoji.

you do not need us for that. but if you want backup, this is exactly what senpai is for.

want backup?

senpai drafts a voice from one sentence and writes posts that pass the blacklist by default. 50 free generations, no credit card.
